I called him Long Hair

This beautiful 15-year young man which I call Theo. We met me when I went to El Salvador and became the director’s volunteer and advisor to the education department in the Special Education School in El Hospital Bloom. This young eager to learn. Figgitiy, dancing from one leg to another in harmonic rhythm, with hands up expressing his wanting long hair. How he would one day have long hair. Like a rock star.

I felt like a new kid going to the first-day school, I did not know what my role would be other than I knew my trade. A pared and shared with the students getting an idea of what their personalities were. I am of the Howard Gardner discipline, so trying to find out what they loved doing within the 12 intelligence. And I meet Theo and his aunt a young girl that would accompany him to the school and therapies he would have as an outpatient.

While in class on the 10th floor of the hospital, Theo confessed he was taking some very heavy drugs that would make him shake and tremble at night. And, I understood exactly what he was telling me. I get asking questions and immediately involved the director and the legion of psychologists that aided her in the classroom.

Immediately he was interviewed by a psychologist and doctors that deemed that the child was being overdosed in small quantities. It was immediately corrected.

Well, today I got a message that he still remembers the director and maul me. I was so happy that I decided to share this story with you.

“You might not remember me but I am Theo’s Aunt.” she goes on… My response was the name sounds familiar it is present in my mind. What grade was he? And then I said oh as if I recalled something: Yes it was the characteristic recalled from him “A Pelo Lago??”.

“Long hair.” She replied yes. That is how we knew him and I recall him.

She replied “siiiii ” ” se graduado”. The translation he graduated from special education high school.

According to him, he is doing well. Living in Los Angeles California. He became a resident. I was truly happy for him.

However, I don’t know if as he grows if he ever allowed to were his hair long at all. I don’t know if they gave him that pleasure.
