check list
- Must be consistent, persistent and have a routine; I use a big calendar
- Must Understand what the individual your caring is passionate for and try to respect them as a personal choice.
- Use reinforcement that they enjoy getting to keep the routine completed; phone, allowance, etc
- Develop non-verbal sign language to help reduce stress in the home.
- Keep it simple.
- Don’t underestimate their ability to choose; Be tolerant with their choice; what happens when you not around; simply observe more and redirect only if absolutely have to, not just you the guardian doesn’t like it especially for those that have adult children in their home. Respect their opinion and style.
- It take a family to develop an individual and our surrounding; make the child understands safety rules…; develop codes in case one needs to be picked me up by someone other than usual person guardian…
- Observe your child’s passion to start asking what they like and gravitate towards… then and help them plan for career vocation or for high education; they like guitar teach. They like hair; cosmetologists. teaching how to put food on the table. Help your child be independent etc…
- Reach out to professional that can help; join a support that will help with resources and information on the topic.
